The management and staff at the Port of Takoradi have held their annual thanksgiving service to show gratitude to God for his faithfulness for the year 2022.
The gathering also served as an opportunity for management to brief staff about key developments ongoing at the port and the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority at large.
The Director of Port, Capt. Ebenezer Afadzi revealed that the Authority has made provision to enhance skills of staff to man the new facilities at the port including the new Dry Bulk Terminal.
He added that the port recorded lower number of vessel calls mainly because many smaller vessels were replaced by bigger vessels during the year.
The Director of Port urged all staff to continue the hard work exhibited in previous years towards the realisation of the Authority’s goals.
The Thanksgiving service was also used to award outstanding departments and employees of GPHA at the Port of Takoradi.
The Human Resource department was praised by the Director of Port for the section’s outstanding contributions to recruitment and labour restructuring activities within the organisation during the year.
